Thursday.....

Man, today was just friggin' crazy. Not bad crazy, not super crazy---just that little boy gave me a run for my money! I guess part of it was my own fault, from time to time, but man am I happy he's asleep!!! :-) Besides, he's so cute at this point. I find myself missing my LITTLE boy, when I had to do everything for him. I think he's finally getting near the point of full weaning---he only gets breastfed of any form when he's going to sleep one way or another. The length of time is getting shorter and shorter. I think that's one thing I miss the most about having a newborn, is the breastfeeding. Once I really got the hang of it, we had a wonderfully beautiful breastfeeding relationship. Wanting another one would mostly be because of that. Not that I do. Because I really don't want another one. I'm in 2 year old hell!!! :-S But at the end of the day, he's so cute, and they are so loving, and it's just a BLAST watching him learn...*sigh* I just don't want another one, really I don't. I'm trying to convince YOU here, not me. T doesn't mind either way. The way I figure it, though, is that I'm the one who would have to deal with all the physical changes, and the kids in general, day to day, so I've got a large part of the decision.

A controversy that's hit my crochet group as of really late...this website/email platform called Grouply. Have you heard of it? Do you use it? It looks perfectly harmless to me, nothing more really than any other email program, but I am trying to look into it. Please let me know if you've heard about it.

I made my second seriously indulgent purchase today. Half of the money from our tax return, which we've already filed by going to H&R Block, went to the tickets to Colorado in August, half goes to me to use for the first month and security deposit when I finally find a place. But I've been using a bit of it---it's that space right at the end of the last month, and the beginning of the next, where I usually don't have much money to work with because a large part of it goes to rent. Of course, if it's not a 5 paycheck month (I think I've explained this before---payday is Wednesday or Friday at T's work, the money hits on Thursday, so I just go by that as my "money day"), then it's all a crunch. Sadly, even with 29 days February can probably NEVER been a 5 paycheck month (though I can imagine a year when that's possible. It probably just happened before I was born or will happen after I die), at least in my life time. The only problem with the latest purchase---a stereo I've had my eye on since Christmas to replace the one P demolished when he was younger---he took of part of the front when he was like 18 months, and jammed the CD tray, because it was a 5 CD changer, about when he turned 2---the first purchase was the Brew Station I bought...because I got sick of having to worry about carafes getting broken---is the same problem with the last, only that I can't figure this one out---where do I put it that P won't get his hands on it? I have NO surfaces that are even imaginable. Of course, now I have an idea, but it's talking with T about it. Something may have to be rigged. Over the tv. Or some such. An independent shelf. We have no free floating ones...nothing on it's own. I'd put it on the mantle, only P may pull it down...on his head. He managed to tip over a box that happens to have a crate of books for PaperBackSwap on it (how exactly he did it is a bit of a mystery---I think he was in the middle of his favorite pastime----trying to CLIMB UP something. UGH! That precious precious head! :-S). I think it just hit his shoulder. Or scared him. Rained a book or two on him....he seems none the worse for wear though. Like I said, 2 year old hell....I'm sure others have it worse :-S

And of course I'm going to bed way too late. My current obsession....again, Farm Frenzy. It's just horribly addicting!!!! But now I need sleep! Before the clock for camping says "3 o'clock am" UGH ME...

I want to get my act in gear this next week. Please! At least I picked up the floor before I started this email.....

Thursday's Pace...

So...

Why is it that any time I spend a good portion of the day outside of the house, that I don't have an easy time of getting things started when I get home? Well, at least on any day other than a MOPS meeting day? It may not help that I didn't get to bed until 2 last night (AGAIN, UGH!), or that I bumped my head on the bottom corner of a CD rack that we mounted to the wall after P was born---right on the forehead, and it hurts---always when I poke at it (it's like a tooth with a toothache), and often when I'm not poking at it. It's interesting to feel, because I have this little bump at the spot where the very corner connected, and a bit of a line where the rest of the portion that connected...uh...connected. It makes me wonder how much P's head must hurt each time he bumps it, and makes me even more afraid of all the damage that could be done, not to mention more afraid of him hurting himself again. :-( He's my baby!!!

I've been thinking about restructuring, reformatting and redecorating around the blog. It looks so plain and dull sometimes. I mean, sure I want the focus to be the content and not the context, but it's got to look nice too, right? I've done a lot of stuff around here---I write my own html for the content in the sidebar (one place I need to clean up), and I've put in the pictures for the header myself. I figured out how to put the picture the header was created from up as the header on my Blog365 profile page. Go me---I did that a while ago, but still. I'm going to go through my bookmark folders too. What I decide is going to stay there will end up in my links sections. I'd love a pull down menu so visitors can visit my favorites, instead of having to scroll down forever to find the site they want to look at. Okay, they'll have to anyhow, but that's not the point. I'm going to make my site look pretty, that's all.

Got any good, decently priced options/advice?

I've even got dinner planned. It's getting late in the evening now (6pm), so it's good it's a quick dinner---taco salad. D's been asking for it off and on.

I'm going to make up a list to make myself accountable:

Dishes (there's not many left)
Clothes
Dinner
Pick up clutter on floor
Vac

That's it for now. Back later.

Monday's the beginning of a new week...

I still don't feel totally up to par, but there are several things I MUST get done today. Among them a trip to the post office, and maybe one to the bank to pick up a new check register. The old one's more than full.

Also, I'm working to take a stab at cleaning up this house. I've already gathered up some garbage (which joined the growing pile on the futon, ugh), and some clothes from the bathroom. I've filled the kitchen sink to do some dishes, but chances are pretty good that's already all drained out. I folded the clothes that were in that really big box, though I didn't put them all away yet (the towels are back in the box waiting, as well as T's clothes that had been in the mix.). I want to attack the floor more, and the stuff on the futon. And start sorting stuff on out of the house. But I will try hard not to over tax myself, and just get what I can done. I'm already looking forward to the next dose of ibuprophen, and it's going to be time to put P down for his nap SOON. I haven't heard him cough in a while. I'm going to see how his new meds work for him, and keep consistent with it so I know it's REALLY working. He needs another dose too.

But I'm happy because I'm making an attempt!

Later gator!

...and sometimes I know I don't

If you want to better understand the title, check yesterday's "personal" post (as in, the one that's not a meme). That title's the beginning of the sentence, this is the end. :-| Because isn't it that truth?

Well, I had that cry. It wasn't a very good one. Rather pitiful, I must say. Hardly many tears. I was hoping for a real gully washer----you know, the kind you had when you were a kid and your parents sent you to your room. Or when you discovered the guy you thought hung the moon didn't even know you existed (or when the girl you thought of as your best friend told you that she had told him that morning on the bus that you had a crush on him. Okay, that time I didn't cry, I nearly hyperventilated, then I think I got kinda peeved. I should have been able to see then what a SUCKY best friend she'd turn out to be!!! That was Betrayal #1---but then, I've forgiven her now, so it doesn't much matter, does it? Oh well.). Things feel only a little bit better. Maybe because I didn't take a nap right after---D decided to bring the friend I had told her could come over if they played outside, inside, they helped T with the cheesecake for the crochet meeting tomorrow, and the girl ended up "accidentally" knocking P down on the floor, so I didn't want to sleep anymore. I sent that girl home! I don't much like D playing with that girl anyhow :-| Right now there are few people who pass my "test".

Anyhow, who would have thought that the HIGHLIGHT of my day would be going down to get the pictures from my sister, getting P's haircut (he looks SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE now!) and then coming home to open my email and see that my electric bill had been reduced by $77!?!?!?!

Because I came home and couldn't get P down for a nap, T took forever before he decided to finally work on the cheesecake, plus he didn't like that I had already told the group that he was making a chocolate peppermint marbled one---that I'm pretty sure will turn out GREAT!--- and he doesn't quite get why I flipped out because every time people come in while I'm trying to put P down to sleep it restarts the whole process again, and my head hurts so bad that all I want to do is sit and crochet all night and day long so the dishes AGAIN are sitting unwashed, the floor is in serious need of getting picked up, the stuff that didn't get put away where they belong right away are piling up on my futon, and we have to dig around in a big box of clothes in the washroom if we want to wear anything (mainly me and whoever I send to get something for P to wear [read: often D}]). UGH! I had all of ONE WEEK between when my period ended and this whole silly cold started. And now P still has his cold, and I've got to track down the number for the nurse who called from the place who will be evaluating P because some people in the family (my mom and sister) think he needs to be checked since he doesn't talk or say much. I think he's just fine, I know how INTELLIGENT the kid is, I'm working DILIGENTLY to get him to sleep enough, and I know all of the OTHER wonderful things that he CAN do, but no, I promised mom if he didn't improve much (to her satisfaction I guess), then I'd call them and have him evaluated. Which they will do IN the home, which brings me back to getting this place picked up. I don't want to set up the eval until AFTER we move, because I can't STAND this place!!!!!

But my time is up, and I need to go get D from Girl Scouts after I wake T up. Which I won't be doing the way he LIKES because P is asleep next to him. UGH....

I'll do the Friday's Feast when I get back later.
